Are you watching The X Factor this year? Do you watch it just because your Mrs does? Or maybe just to keep an eye on the lovely Nicole Sherzinger? Whatever the reason, there’s no shame in it – we’re there with you, it’s a guilty pleasure, no harm in that.
And actually, some of this year’s crop of contestants are really impressing us with their fashion stylings – he may have been booted out when the judges opted to save Indie boy Luke Friend, but at least he can commiserate in style after we spotted him in an on trend Friend or Faux Sweater – he might not have the X-Factor, but he’s definitely got the style factor in our books.
Perhaps our favourite act left in the competition though, is Rough Copy. The three piece vocal harmony group hailing from London are Sterling Ramsey, Kaz Ajobe and Jey Thomas, and here at Reem, we like their style. Not just the way they add their own urban twist to classic hits (they smashed it on big band week with their cover of the Ray Charles classic ‘Hit The Road Jack’ – and their version of Bryan Adams’ ‘Everything I do’ was one of the highlights of the series
so far), not just their infectious enthusiasm and energy on stage, and not just their obviously genuine chemistry as mates. We like their style in terms of the way they present themselves.
The three lads clearly know their fashion – they know their trends, they know what looks good, and they know how to mix up a look with their own flavour and style. These boys know how to dress – they’re accessorising like bosses and managing to create a coherent brand for themselves where they ‘match’ in as much that you can easily tell they’re all part of the same unit, but each band member works the look in his own way, putting his own individual stamp on the theme. We’re not entirely sure about the whole skirt thing, but somehow, they do seem to make it work. (Can’t promise we’ll be stocking man skirts anytime soon though, sorry!)
What we’ve also noticed, is that the Rough Copy lads have great taste when it comes to designer clothing – having been spotted in some of Sik Silk’s finest.
It’s no big surprise really, Sik Silk is a luxury urban brand that ties in with the whole Rough Copy persona perfectly. Sik Silk is all about being modern, outspoken, hip and on trend, which all sits well with the signature Rough Copy style. The silk jerseys the label does so well are great staples to build a unique, daring look upon, and can be styled in loads of different ways – great when each band member wants to make his own style statement.
Sik Silk’s nod to vintage styling and the retro feel of their collection goes hand in hand with the way Rough Copy take an old school track and mash it up into something brand new. We reckon the lads would love the Sik Silk Cheetah T-Shirt – perfect for wowing the audience on a live show. Or perhaps Classic Black Baseball Jerseys for the final if they get there?
